My, such a witty game of words!
In sweeping comments Monday before Israel’s 60th anniversary, Israeli President Shimon Peres compared the Iranian nuclear threat to Hitler’s Germany and said engaging Gaza’s Hamas rulers would be like talking to a wall.
He reportedly also said that racism is not a black-and-white issue and that he is *open* to talks about border closures.
(also, the bakery that didn’t have any muffins this morning is like Himmler, but that’s beside the point)
Racism is truly not a ‘black and white’ issue, especially when it comes to Israel as outlined in thispaper.
In general, what Fanon called ‘cultural racism’ is on the ascendant and ‘racism without races’ seems to be the likely rut this malady will settle into going forward. It will be a „racism whose dominant theme is not biological heredity but the insurmountability of cultural differences, a racism, which, at first sight, does not postulate the superiority of certain groups or peoples in relation to others but ‘only’ the harmfulness of abolishing frontiers, the incompatibility of life-styles and traditions“.
